I was told that when you are selling your house and you have people due over with a realtor, you should leave some music on like jazz, etc. so that that house doesn’t have a dead silence or so that every little noise isn’t heard. Is that true? Also, is it ok to leave placemats on the kitchen island eating area or remove them? Thanks.

I think its called staging. I know it involves Interior Designing and most likely requires a certificate, right? I dont want to work with the public (telling people how to decorate their house), I want to be able to decorate it the way I want. I was wondering who I would need to work with to do this, the company that builds the house or the realtor? Any other information you can give me on the subject is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

We just recently bought a house and are in the inspection stage. My husband and I are first time home buyers and have no idea what we are doing and what step to take as we go. Can anyone help or give advice? I don’t want to ask the realtor every little detail because I feel like he’s out for his own agenda.
